‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers tells that while being asked for her worldly dating advice by her extremely conservative sister, Lydia, Moriah Plath was going through her own love life experience. Moriah was having her first date!

She said she liked being with this guy and that when she was with him he made her feel the gamut of emotions. She also said that she was glad she saved her first date for this guy, which is honestly really adorable. I’m glad that for Moriah, this guy was worth the wait.

‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: Moriahs first date

Moriah is deviating so much from the culture she grew up in. She said that in the fundamentalist culture, it’s common for the girls to pick whomever they have crushes on from a distance and slowly get closer, but the catch is they have to stick with this one guy for the rest of their lives.

That’s kind of stifling because what if you outgrow your crush on a a guy? I mean, it does happen. Not every crush is going to hold for the rest of your life, in fact it’s really rare that a girl ends up marrying the first guy she has a crush on, or for that matter, even the first guy she has chemistry with. It’s kind of unfair and unrealistic to expect this standard out of girls, but in that culture, so many do.

However, Moriah, has broken free and I’m rooting for her. She’s allowing herself to feel everything when it comes to this first date experience and she’s not expecting intentional dating or anything out of this guy other than a good, fun time at an ice cream shop. Her guy has made her feel comfortable, and that’s a good thing. It looks like he’s been pretty patient with her as far as things have gone.

Originally he thought that Moriah hated him because she would only text him back after 24 hours, but Moriah says that she’s just bad at communicating and that that was the culture that was promoted in the Plath household growing up.

But the thing is, she’s willing to try and she’s willing to learn, and that’s a good thing. Even if she does get a few thing’s wrong, she’s just starting out… I have a feeling she’ll ultimately be okay. Stay tuned!!!
