‘Welcome to Plathville‘ Spoilers reveal that Moriah Plath had to tell her parents sometime or another that she was having her first gig. Of course up until now we thought that she may actually be kind of cool about it and wait until after the gig was over to drop the bomb, but that might have been even more awkward than what she actually did.

Instead, she called the family mediary, Lydia, out for coffee and told her that she was having her first gig and you could tell that she was totally going to gauge whether or not she told Kim and Barry on Lydia’s reaction. Lydia, who’s all too eager to have the family back together said, “You only have one first concert.” and kept re-iterating that and inadvertantly (or maybe not so inadvertantly) guilting Moriah.

‘Welcome to Plathville’: Moriah finally dropped the bomb

So, in the end, Moriah caved and told Kim and Barry about the concert but set a firm boundary with them that they couldn’t come because Olivia was there, and that was her boundary and Moriah wanted to respect that.

At first, both Kim and Barry played it cool, but then after Moriah left Kim got angry and said that this felt like they were tearing apart the family all over again One could definitely see where Kim would feel that way, and you did have to feel sorry for Moriah, having to choose between people whom she both considers family.

While Kim was angry, Barry was surprisingly ambivalent about it? Instead of getting all up in arms as Kim did, Barry seemed like he was okay with sitting this one out, he honestly seemed like he was okay with not going at all. Yes, this was his daughter’s first concert but it seems that Barry was kind of… over it?

Maybe he just didn’t really care because they had already done concerts together as a family, or maybe he didn’t particularly want to hear the ‘new’ type of music that Moriah would be singing (sounds like a Barry thing, honestly, we all know how he feels about the wold’s “junk”), but Kim doubled down and wouldn’t let up.

We knew this was going to end badly, we just didn’t know how badly until it actually happened. Kim, Barry, Isaac, and Lydia all piled into a friend’s suburban and did a complete black ops move and showed up to Moriah’s concert unannounced, while pretending to go along with the boundaries that she had set… wow.

That took some stealth on their part, but yike, the lengths they went to was all kinds of unhealthy. Ethan’s mad, and what’s more surprising, Micah is mad. There might be more boundary setting in the future. Stay tuned!!!
