‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers reveal that it’s clear to see that Lydia Plath, misses her big brother, Ethan Plath. Beliefs or not, I don’t think that Kim or Barry realize how Ethan’s absence from the family is hurting Lydia.
The poor thing said that sometimes she prays all day, and while she has given it to the heavenly Father and can only hope that there’s a resolution someday, one can’t help but wonder if that someday is going to culminate in some major resentment from Lydia later.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: Lydia misses Ethan
Out of the siblings, it’s clear to see that Lydia was bonded to Ethan, and we can see why, his naturally fun, goofy personality would make for a fun big brother, something that Lydia clearly needs, being in the dull Plath household all day.
Isaac doesn’t seem like the type to really do all the goofy big brother antics that Ethan would, besides that, he’s the younger brother, the youngest boy in the house and seems to ahve an entirely reserve way about him.
Lydia misses her older siblings, the siblings she grew up with, the siblings that she can most relate to. She can’t really relate to the younger siblings who are in the house because, aside from Isaac they’re all 11 years old and under, 5 years makes a difference, and when your 16 you want to be around people your own age and Moriah, Micah, Ethan, and Olivia, are closer to Lydia in age than the little Plaths are.
Obviously, Lydia wants to be allowed to grow up, but will Kim and Barry actually allow that or will she have to wait until she goes to the mission field to do that?
I hope not. Lydia says that she would like to write Ethan a letter, but she’s afraid that he will tell her the same thing that he told their Mom and Dad, that he wants nothing to do with her and not to contact him again.
I suspect that’s the reason why Olivia wants a phone, it’s much easier to ask someone over text than it is writing them a full letter and getting postage and all that to go along with it and then getting rejected. Also, there is the chance that her communications via snail mail could always be intercepted by Kim, and Kim and Barry didn’t want them talking to the younger kids at all. So, here’s to Olivia getting a phone and being able to at least text with her older siblings. Stay tuned!!!
