‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers finds that next week’s preview looks pretty troubling for those two, at least marriage-wise. Ethan has previously said that he wasn’t given an emotional toolset to handle emotional problems while growing up with the Plaths, and it’s clear to see that that is pretty true.
He can be rather childish at times, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen Olivia break down so I don’t know what on earth he did, but it seems to be pretty bad.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: Are Ethan and Olivia in trouble?
Olivia said that she didn’t know how on earth that they were going to both get what they needed and what they wanted, and that talking to Ethan was like talking to a brick wall, and that she just wanted out. Oh no. Those aren’t words you want to hear coming out of your partner’s mouth, ever.
I’m not sure if this is about their upcoming purchase of a home, or maybe they were discussing the way they wanted to raise kids, or perhaps they had gotten into a squabble over Ethan’s cars, I’m not sure. But this looks pretty bad for Olivia to be breaking down on camera about, because so far she’s been through some pretty rough stuff and hasn’t cried anytime that we know about, but now…
Ethan, you can tell, didn’t know what to do in this situation. He wanted to help Olivia but he didn’t really know how to help her. This is where the fact that he has no emotional tool-set really comes through. He wanted to be empathetic to Lydia but simply didn’t know the words to say in order to do so.
This right here is Kim and Barry’s fault, I’m not sure what went down in their house, whether they just ignored the kids when they were upset or what, but clearly, Ethan needed more hugs as a child – or something!
I’m not sure how you raise a person who doesn’t know how to handle emotional conflict, because that’s not the example I was given. I’m not sure I want to know how that goes down because I can only imagine that that had to be traumatic for the child. You don’t get that way by having empathetic parents.
Aside from that, here’s hoping that Ethan and Olivia can work through their problems, they do make a really sweet couple. Guess we’ll see what happens next week. Stay tuned!!!
