‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers finds that Man, going truck shopping in the Plath family is kind of an ordeal. But Kim Plath didn’t make things easy on Lydia and Ethan to hang out because she insisted on dropping Lydia off, something that got Ethan all up in arms because he didn’t want his Mother on the property.
He gave Lydia strict instructions for Kim to stay at the end of the driveway and not actually come on the property. The thing is, it looked like Olivia, Ethan’s normally combative wife seemed to actually be more open to the idea of letting Kim onto the property to drop Lydia off for once.

However, don’t think that was an indication of an olive branch, that was just for the benefit of the relationship with Lydia. Of course Kim just thinks that Ethan and Olivia are dead-set against her, but Ethan says that this is because Kim expects people to bend over backward for her and for her to give nothing in return and he doesn’t jive with that. There’s definitely two sides to every story here.
When Ethan and Lydia went truck shopping, unfortunately the dealership was closed, so instead of actually trying to buy trucks they went and just looked at vehicles on the lot and drew on the dust on the windows – or at least Ethan did. Lydia stayed classy and didn’t dare. It was adorable watching them hang out as brother and sister for the first time in almost a year and a half, as Olivia previously pointed out.
Ethan was definitely a little awkward at first, but he seemed to settle in after he was sure that Kim was safely off the property. Olivia also said that because the Plath kids basically took care of themselves, that the siblings, especially Lydia, kind of looked up to him like a Dad figure. That one sentence gives a whole lot of insight as to why Lydia took the separation as hard as she did.
She also asked Ethan about the one thing that she can’t seem to talk to Kim and Barry about, the one thing that keeps getting shut down in their discussions, and that was her crush. She told Ethan that God had told her to hold back on contact and she said it had been confirmed when the preacher at their church (since when did the Plath start going again?
I thought they didn’t find a church that jived with their beliefs?) preached a sermon that sounded like it was speaking directly to her. She even wondered if Kim and Barry had said something to the preacher but they said they hadn’t – however Ethan said that they probably did, and I kind of believe Ethan. Speaking of, Ethan got the hundred yard stare when he said that Olivia wished that they hadn’t got married so soon.
You couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for him when he admitted that. According to some recent reports, Olivia and Ethan have confirmed that they’re still married – but there looks like there’s been some real painful realizations there. Stay tuned!!!
