The Beckham family is one of the biggest brands in the world, but with that, there are negative consequences that they have to contend with. And this includes none more so than the presence of social media haters. After all, this is something that Victoria is very well aware of when it comes to comments directed at herself.
This was most notably seen when Victoria was slammed for sharing a picture of a model on Instagram, who was very thin to say the least. This resulted in claims that Victoria was skinny-shaming. In order to avoid her daughter from going through anything similar, Victoria has made it very clear that she will do anything to protect her.
In her comments to Vogue Australia, Victoria said: “Harper isn’t on social media, so we don’t have to worry about [body-shaming] just yet. But seeing how cruel people can be, yes, it really does [concern me].”
And by not being on social media, Victoria stressed an emphasis on trying to manage Harper’s transition from childhood into puberty. And as they are a very close-knit family, the star spoke on the importance of building up Harper’s confidence.
In this way, communication was going to be of paramount importance which can only be a good thing in light of Harper’s elder siblings. Victoria’s following comments confirmed as much: “She’s at that age where her body is going to start changing.
“But it’s about making sure that we communicate a lot as a family and she surrounds herself with nice friends.” The fans on social media resonated with Victoria’s comments. They praised Victoria for protecting her daughter from the dangers of social media.
