Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have opened up on the circumstances that led to the birth of their newborn son Cruz.

It has just been over a month, since Cruz came into this world, but the backstory surrounding his birth is enough to keep someone engaged for a lifetime. And the couple had no hesitation in sharing that story. In an interview on the Moms Like Us Podcast, Brittany spoke on the moment she realised she was pregnant. She said: “We were in Kentucky, helping my mom ’cause she got really sick.
“Jax came [to] town….We rented an Airbnb…I knew I was ovulating, and obviously, we did not want to be in my mom’s house.” Brittany was clearly going through a lot. Her mother was taken to the hospital after suffering from severe bladder problems. But before that had all happened, Brittany decided to let her mom know exactly what she was going through.
And as the couple had wanted a baby for so long, they were hell-bent on making sure that everything was perfect. Jax stated: “We were really honest with her mother. We were like, ‘Listen, she’s ovulating this week…We said, ‘We’re going to go ahead and get an Airbnb, to be somewhat romantic.”
Just when you thought things were difficult enough, their Airbnb had another issue. The couple had rented it along with some other friends. As the latter went to the airport, they quickly rushed into the room for some ‘romantic’ downtime before the maid would come in and ultimately check them out. The rest was history.
Brittany added: “So after they [friends] left, I was like, ‘Come on!’ We had to hurry before the maid got there. It was just not romantic at all. So, that’s how Cruz was conceived.” Despite the difficulties that were involved, the couple would go on to have a safe pregnancy. With Cruz now fully settled at home, he has managed to strike up friendships with Lala Kent and Scheana Shay’s kids.
The couple are in a really happy place, and the only question remaining is whether they will decide to go for another baby.
