So, his enemies made his choice for him. He, Bere, and the rest of his small circle were hiding out and needed money. Manu and Bere went to Doña Catalina Gómez Juárez’s (Dacia González) house to get some extra money. They nearly got caught there, and just barely escaped. However, the hotel room they hid in was still found. This led to an attack that almost killed Manu. He was forced to fake his own death, and it seems that was a big turning point.
