Univision Dulce Ambición spoilers indicate this show previously aired in Brazil. It’s the very first Brazilian novela Univision has aired, and there’s been plenty of hype around it. They even had a contest to get a kit including cupcakes, as the main character is a baker. Let’s take a look at some initial impressions of episode one.

Univision Dulce Ambición Spoilers: The look
First, Dulce Ambición spoilers reveal we have to comment on the look of this show. We’d seen a couple tweets before getting the chance to watch a recording, but that didn’t prepare us for how good this show is visually. The backgrounds and camera works is breathtaking and, at times, looked like a painting. The quality seemed far superior to most of the shows we’ve been watching, and we have to give props for that. We also loved the theme music, which has us smiling the whole time. Even if the imagery in the opening made us hungry. Points off for that.
Univision Dulce Ambición Spoilers: The backstory
As for the story itself, the main character is named Maria de la Paz Sobral Ramirez (Juliana Paes). She lives with her family, led by her grandmother, Dulce Ramirez (Fernanda Montenegro). It took about two minutes of the premiere for the baking element to come in, as Dulce introduced Maria de la Paz to the art. It was a sweet, cute moment, but that didn’t last long.
Quickly, we saw the family isn’t your typical family. They do dirty work, partly out of necessity. See, they’re involved in a bitter blood feud with another family. So, Maria de la Paz and the other kids are basically all getting taught to shoot. Plus, their heads are filled with the stories about this evil family that has taken so many of their own. This is where another thing comes in.
There’s a Romeo and Juliet angle to this story. See, Maria de la Paz had lost a love before in all this violence and had no interest in going there again. One day, an adult Maria de la Paz was out riding a horse when it went crazy and nearly ran over a cliff. Lucky for her, a man named Amadeo Penha Matheu (Marcos Palmeira) came along and saved her. He quickly invited her back to the spot the next day. Unfortunately, they found out Amadeo is related to the family Maria de la Paz’s hates. Thanks to that, Maria de la Paz was forced to tell her family.
Univision Dulce Ambición Spoilers: Favorite moments
See, this is where we kind of hate/kinda love this development. It’s cheesy that the girl who’s name basically means Maria of Peace is the one who tries to talk her family into a truce. She even shows at Amadeo’s family home with a white flag to work things out. We’ll get to what we might expect from that later. At the same time, we can’t help but like that name and the double meaning at the same time.

Another moment we loved was watching Maria de la Paz dance around to Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” Something we think they chose for a purpose, given what else we’ve heard about this show. But it’s the first time we can remember hearing a classic country song in a novela. We just got a kick out of how she was jamming so hard. It reminded us of the show Mañana es para siempre. A character in that show randomly jammed to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun.”
Finally, we really couldn’t help but get a kick out of the whole Maria de la Paz/Amadeo thing. When she did show up to meet him the next day, they already immediately started on wanting to spend the rest of their lives together. This show seriously wastes no time.
Univision Dulce Ambición Spoilers: Tonight’s episode
As for tonight, Dulce Ambición spoilers reveal Maria de la Paz and Amadeo convince their families to make a peace pact. Things seem fine, but the day of the wedding changes everything. Maria de la Paz has to abandon everything because of the death threats from Amadeo’s family.
