It was an exciting night of action in the UFC over the weekend, as two of the most brutal fighters in the welterweight division went toe to toe in the octagon.
It was Colby Covington that was the fighter celebrating after the finish, as he claimed a fifth round KO/TKO finish against Tyron Woodley. However, that doesn’t take anything away from Woodley’s performance in Las Vegas.
Images emerged on social media after the action of Woodley’s broken rib that was suffered during the fight.
Covington eventually managed to get the win with one minute and 19 seconds gone in the final round. The victory for Covington means that he has improved his record to 16 victories and two defeats.
UFC News: Thrilling Main Card Bouts
The bout between Covington and Woodley wasn’t the only exciting fight to take place during the event. There had been speculation all week that it could have been the final time that we saw Donald Cerrone step into the octagon as he took on Niko Price in the co-main event.
However, despite fighting over 50 times during his professional career, there was a first for Cerrone on Saturday as his fight with Price ended in a draw.
The draw means that Cerrone’s run of four successive defeats was brought to an end. However, Cowboy was not thrilled by his performance when quizzed after the fight. He revealed in the interview that his performance was one of the ‘worst’ of his career. Cerrone once again shot down retirement rumours, and insisted that he plans to fight on.
UFC News: Other Results From Fight Night
There was a dominant win in the bout before the main events, as Khamzat Chimaev ruthlessly knocked out Gerald Meerschaert in the opening round. The victory means that he has now improved his record to nine victories and zero defeats.

Walker won his fight via TKO/KO, while Dern was successful via submission with just under four minutes remaining on the clock in round one. Kevin Holland won the first fight on the main card, as he beat Darren Stewart via decision to improve his record to 19 victories and five defeats.
