In another mystifying move, now that Trisha Paytas has gone, not only “casual vegan” (whatever that means), but has decided to convert to being Wiccan too, she decided to inform all of her followers, specifically the haters, that she is protected against all of their hate because she wears black salt around her neck… and she casted a protection spell and that means that the hate comments bounce right off of her and go right back to where they came… the internet. She also claims to have a reflective aura around her.

Now, we’re not outright saying that none of these things work, but what we are asking is if Trisha actually knows what half this terminology actually means? After doing a bit of research, it would seem that the black salt only goes so far and has to be “recharged” (either in the moonlight or in the sunlight) because otherwise, its protective energy will run out.

The spell, in order to work according to friends who actually practice, needs to be part of a four-pillared process which is ward, protect, banish and cleanse, but they did give her credit for starting with protection spells first because according to them, that is a smart move.

However, one thing is clear – a refelective aura is not a thing, so try as she might convince us about her reflective aura, it just does not exist – actual practicioners say it doesn’t exist. So when Trisha says reflective aura, one wonders what she actually may mean or if she’s all that informed on the practice itself.

Practitioners say that it’s pretty obvious that she isn’t. but she’s trying, and all practitioners have to start somewhere so this is as good a starting point as any. We’ll also give Trisha credit for not opting for cultural appropriation this time around as she has resorted to so many times in the past.

Although, I fear the day that Trisha discovers white sage, or any other closed practice, because if she ends up doing that… well we can only hope that her protection spells work. The thing is, as far as spiritual paths go, the one she has chosen this time seems to be a pretty individualized path, but there’s still room for error. Stay tuned!!!
