Travis Scott Pictured Performing For The First Time Since The Astroworld Tragedy At An Oscar’s Private Party-‘No One Has Forgotten’
The musician was heavily criticised for failing to ensure that the attendees in the crowd got medical assistance, as soon as possible, when it became clear that there were safety concerns. Subsequently, a reported 10 people died with many others injured, as it resulted in Travis receiving lawsuits.
And yet, that seemed to be the last thing on Travis’ mind. In the pictures here, we can see that Travis has a microphone in his hand. He is also mixing some music on the DJ soundboard, as people are dancing in the background.
Although this is a significant milestone in Travis’ career, given that he has performed since Astroworld, it does nothing to take away from that tragedy for the following reasons. First of all, it was a private party. Therefore, the reaction that he would get from a public concert would be completely different compared to this one.
Naturally, he would get a friendlier reception here as major celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire were in attendance. Secondly, it does nothing to demonstrate whether or not Travis is going to be canceled.
We must not forget that people have not forgotten Astroworld, especially the families of the deceased, who will be looking to hold somebody accountable. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
A significant majority of people blasted Travis on the basis that this performance showed a lack of respect for all those that had suffered at Astroworld. Meanwhile, others questioned whether he was a household name.
One fan wrote: “It’s only been 3 months since the Astro World tragedy. No one has forgotten, and no one is going to be forgetting. I am honestly astonished this guy even is remotely trying to come back from having 10 people die at his concert. Even a 9 year old kid.”
It is clear that Travis will need to do a lot more in order to be accepted back into the public arena. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
