At the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, Tracy Morgan poked fun at Eddie Murphy for having a remarkable 10 children while honouring him with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
Tracy Morgan Humiliates Eddie Murphy By Branding Him The New Nick Cannon-‘You Got 10 Children, Your Pull-Out Game Is Weak’
As Morgan discussed Murphy’s lengthy career achievements in an emotional tribute, he also commented on one of his most critical roles – being a dad. In his comments, Tracy said: “You got 10 children. Your pull-out game is weak, Eddie. You look at Paige [his girlfriend] and you get her pregnant.”
Murphy just so happens to have 10 children with five different baby mamas. Much in the same way, Nick Cannon has also faced similar jokes and acts of trolling by virtue of the fact that he has 12 children with six different women.
Before the event had begun, Murphy was seen on the red carpet expressing his enthusiasm for Nick Cannon, who recently became a father for the twelfth time. When asked what he thought of Cannon having such a large family, Murphy responded with an affirmative gesture.
It is not exactly clear if Nick or Eddie plan on having any further children down the line. But one thing for sure is that this has already created a lot of talking points. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
A certain subset of people questioned whether Eddie or Nick were giving enough quality time to their children since Nick has previously spoken about his regret of not being able to spend more time with them due to his hectic work schedule.
One person wrote: “Just the culture, they don’t care about the kids, just making them, sad really sad. Most will OD or take their own lives.” As long as Eddie and Nick are in a good place, then that can only benefit their children moving forward. And that is the most important thing.
