In America, being a 30-year-old woman and unmarried isn’t uncommon because more women focus more on their careers and don’t want to commit themselves to marriage very early. However, the Duggar daughters have been married in their early 20s and had kids before they turned 30. That’s the way it is done in the Counting On family.

Jana Duggar, the eldest Duggar daughter remains at home and she is not courting anyone. Jana is not allowed to move out because she is not married. Speculations and rumors have had it that Jana is a lesbian. Some even say that her father, Jim Bob has prevented her or discouraged her from getting married.

Counting On viewers have also said that it might be because Jana is too helpful around the house. Jim Bob would not accept potential suitors, not ready to let go of his eldest daughter. Now, Jana has not found “the one” that suitors will now be considered “too old”. A Reddit user said that men who are in Jana’s age group and eligible to get married are already married to others, and many within this religious cycle would go for younger women.

Jana Duggar may have even been discouraged as her father probably doesn’t want his eldest daughter to be unwed forever, but keeps turning down suitor. This would probably make Jana stop bringing suitors to the house. There is no point if her father would always turn them down.

TLC Counting On Spoilers: Fans Blame the Counting On Matriarch

While some Counting On fans blame the Counting On patriarch, Jim Bob, other viewers have blamed the Matriarch, Michelle. A number of Reddit users say Michelle is the one rejecting Jana’s suitors because she doesn’t want her eldest daughter—and biggest helper—absent from the house. Michelle is the one that told Jim Bob, and Jim Bob has also been the “dutiful husband” thing by telling their eldest daughter that her potential suitors aren’t fit. Jana has always gone along with her father and mother’s beliefs. It also doesn’t look like the eldest Duggar daughter is not happy as a single woman. She probably enjoys being and aunt and daughter.
