TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?’ spoilers tell that rewatching Paul and Karine it seems clear to me what may have played a role in the things that have transpired between them over social media. Again, this is just speculation, and this was shot a few months back obviously because there’s a delay in filming and airing, but let’s just piece together what could have possibly gone on to make this powder-keg of a situation explode.
Karine felt trapped. After she left her family it was clear to see that she didn’t really like the situation she was going into. Yes, Paul did get them a house, but it was an unfurnished tiny house with a little window unit air conditioner.

There was no luxury apartment, it looked like there was barely any furniture in the place, and on top of that she has a baby and is unmedicated for her bipolar. So a situation that’s less than ideal that can prove stressful for even experienced Moms was not ideal for Karine.
From what we could see, Paul was trying his best to get a job. He even asked the lady at the pet shop if they were hiring, which, that takes guts. He said he had applied to a lot of jobs but that he had been turned down for quite a few because he had a felony conviction that was 10 years old and a lot of employers don’t want to work with former felons.
This is true, at least he was being honest. But what stuck out to me is his Mom’s words to him, she kept saying how that she felt sorry for the baby and how he had brought a baby in to this situation. Now, I took his Mom’s word in stride and thought that she was actually trying to prepare him for the real world by telling him that he needed to get on the ball about finding a job.
But, Paul seems to be a bit of a Mama’s boy and probably thought that this meant that maybe his Mom was no longer going to enable him or possibly help him take care of the baby. Paul saw the writing on the wall, he saw that he had made his bed and he was about to be forced to lie in it. You could practically spot the moment that he wanted to make a Paul-shaped hole in the wall.
This realization, coupled with, what I’m assuming is multiple fights with Karine and the day-to-day of taking care of an infant probably made him want to extricate himself from the situation altogether. So what better way to do that than to flip out on social media and make his wife want to leave?
Now that the backlash has hit him, that’s why he’s deleted his social media. Probably any prospects of any kind of job that he had have probably dried up with the release of all of those lives that he did on IG.
An employer is going to be reluctant to be associated with that dumpster fire and it’s just as well for Paul because if he is as deadbeat (his Mom’s own words, here!) as some people say he is then that buys him a lot of time and he can live in that tiny house all by himself with that one, window unit AC and not really bother to man-up and do anything while Karine has to go get the help she needs from outside sources because hey guess what, she’s the Mom and she has to put on her big girl pants now! But hey… that’s just a theory… we’ll see how things develop. Stay tuned!!!
