TLC ’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers finds that we all know the reason that Mursel’s parents hate Anna is because she has kids and this goes against their culture but this begs the question – is there or was there ever another woman back in Turkey that may be fit more of their cultural ideals? So far we haven’t heard Mursel mention any other women and maybe he had some incredible game back in Turkey but maybe that just doesn’t translate well into US culture.

Considering the lengths he went to hide Anna’s kids, if there was a woman in Turkey that his parents wanted him to marry – would he even say anything about it? I kind of wonder about that because Mursel, while he has a severe lack of assertive tendencies seems to be a master of keeping secrets. So I wonder, even if he had had a woman back in Turkey, would he have even told Anna? Or would he have just, again, not said anything and just let things go as far as they could in the name of not rocking the boat?

Okay, yes we realize that their culture is prohibitive of Mursel marrying a woman who has been previously married or has kids. But you have to wonder if there’s not more to it than what’s actually on the surface. At 38, did they really expect their son to bring home a completely virgin bride? I realize in some cultures things are more conservative than in the US but I am hard-pressed to think that even in Turkey, Mursel would have had his pick of culturally pleasing women. If his parents actually thought that then they are just being unreasonable.

My theory is actually that Mursel’s parents actually had someone in mind for him that they wanted to match him with (because hello, conservative culture sometimes leads to arranged marriages) and when he went away to go be with Anna he ruined their plans and that is the reason why they were so upset when they found out about Anna’s kids. Because not only had he probably ruined a match with a perfectly nice hometown girl and they had to end things with her family as well, but he had done it all for a girl who already had kids and had been married before! Of course, that’s going to send conservative, aging parents through the roof! It would be the same in the US without a potential match.

There could be a myriad of reasons. The first being that no one actually wants their parents fixing them up at all, not even on one date, much less finding a husband or wife for them. No one can actually blame Mursel for wanting to run far and away from that possibility. There is also the possibility that the heart wants what it wants and that there was just no chemistry at all. And there is the last possibility that there were far more superficial reasons at play and maybe the match back home just didn’t fit Mursel’s aesthetic and that he wanted a different type of woman altogether.
