TLC ’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers: ‘Before the 90 Days’ finds that dressing for success isn’t the only thing that Lisa Hamme is doing to grease the wheels with her potential future Mother-in-Law, she is also bringing gifts! But maybe not the kind of traditional gifts that someone in the US would bring to sweeten a potential match deal. No, Usman Umar insisted that it had to be a very specific kind of gift and that specific kind of gift is a goat. Yup, you heard me! A hooved, horned, tin-can eating (okay that is a myth) goat that can be later slaughtered for meat. I guess the US equivalent would be if you brought an entire freezer full of Omaha Steaks to your Mother in Law’s house for a barbeque.
The thing is, I don’t think Lisa knows what is going to happen to this goat. Or at least she doesn’t realize it yet. She is picking out this goat like it’s going to be a family pet of some kind. She’s already named it, which, my own Grandfather learned the hard way is a bad idea. Do not get attached to those animals that you are raising for the table. I hope Usman has at least warned her that Barney’s days are numbered here on this earth. Because if Mama Umar slaughters the goat right in front of Lisa she may just run screaming from Nigeria and swim all the way back to the US depending on just how brutal the end of life is for poor Barney.

I will give props to Lisa for one thing, she chose the best-looking goat out of the feedlot. He was not skinny, he was already fat and sleek and looked like he had been there awhile. As far as goats go, he was really awesome looking. He was also a very expensive goat. She spent $40,000 in Nigerian currency on him, which roughly equates to $115 in USD. According to my research depending on what region you’re in Northern or Southern Nigeria, they can range from $10,000 to $25,000 and you can get more in southern Nigeria (up to $25,000) and Barney was worth almost double that price. I don’t know, if that and the designer fashion that Lisa is wearing doesn’t turn Mama Umar’s head, nothing will. Will Barney the goat tip the scales in Lisa’s favor? Stay tuned!!!
