Ash took Avery to a sanctuary for wildlife animals, and they met a Kangaroo named Joe. The couple also met a Koala named Daisy. According to Ash, he felt “like it was going to be a good experience” for them. Ash said “as a couple, having fun and being able to do those things just strips down the layers so we can find a way to connect.” Avery was very happy to be having fun. She felt really stressed out after meeting her man’s brother, and she said that “spending time with Ash, I feel a lot more at ease.”

During their outing, Avery and her boyfriend carried a Koala. Ash jumped at the opportunity immediately, but Avery hesitated at first and she told him to go first. Avery said “I just want to see how this goes.” Although, the TLC star later explained why she was hesitant at first. Avery posted a picture of herself getting close to the Koala. She said that she was “was a little fearful I would get chlamydia since I did too much reading before going to Australia.” She explained that “the majority of koalas have it.” Avery eventually held the koala, and she didn’t forget to tell her fans that “I’m clean.”

Avery enjoyed herself while she and Ash played with Animals. She said that spending time with him made her see that Ash “just has, like, this big heart.” She said she also realized he has “such a loving and caring nature.” However, she says she still needs to learn a lot about him. Ash and Avery both have children and Avery says that she and Ash would like their family to blend. Seeing him interact with animals helped her see different sides of him. She said that “seeing that affectionate and nurturing side of him gives me a little bit more understanding of how he is as a father.”
