TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’ spoilers finds that Andrei Castravet finally explained in what seems to be an incredible lack of detail what went on in Moldova to make him leave. As it turns out he was forced out by his own country when he decided to go against a corrupt higher in command and apparently when you do that, the higher in command ‘sets you up’.

Now, he didn’t exactly explain, at least in front of Elizabeth Potthast’s family, what exactly that was but he did say that it involved him taking a stand and basically getting railroaded. The thign is, this was not what he told Libby initially. LIbby looked a bit blindsided and a bit shocked.

TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’ Spoilers: Was Andrei set up?

But… honestly, I would rather know, in a situation like this, that at least my hubby was one of the ones standing up against corruption than one who was standing by and letting it happen. While I’m no fan of Andrei and he can definitely be problematic, at least in this particular circumstance it sounds like he may have done the right thing and gotten punished for it by standing up and doing the right thing.

Or at least that show he told the story. I’ll say this, if Andrei were afraid for his life, I could see why he hid the truth from Libby. If e thought that whomever set him up in Moldova would follow him to another country and rub him out over whatever beef they had just to keep his silence, I could see it.

However… he’s been in the United States for a pretty good while now and he didn’t think to tell Libby while he’s literally an ocean away?

Maybe this is why he was getting so panicky in Moldova, maybe it has nothing to do with the Potthast’s themselves or even the fact that they’re asking questions in general, but maybe he just didn’t want them to be asking while in Moldova.

However he picked an awfully public place to be spilling his guts, but he didn’t name names and he didn’t give out  what the instance was then I guess he could be safe enough. Still, why would Libby act like he had betrayed her when he was the cop that stood up to a corrupt police officer?

I guess there is always that small matter of her Dad’s alleged real estate fraud, maybe she thinks if he would stand up to a corrupt police force, then he’d be willing to put a hitch in their bread and butter at home too. Because didn’t both Libby and Andrei work for Libby’s Dad at one point? The mystery deepens. Stay tuned!!!
