When Lisa first arrived in Nigeria, she was staying in a hotel with Usman. It was cozy and pretty nice, but Usman wanted her to see his home too. When they got to Kaduna, where he lives, things seemed a bit different for Lisa. She was pretty shocked at his living situation. She found out that he has two roommates and he shares a very small room with them. His mattress is on the floor and it is only big enough for a kid! You can imagine how shocked she was when she saw this. Usman said of his situation, “In our culture, it’s normal. You’re just, you’re all men, you’re all guys. No problem.”

Lisa wanted to explore his place even more and when she went into the bathroom, she was beyond shocked! “Oh my god! You’ve got to be kidding me.” She found two buckets in there, one bucket was for water for their bath. She said, “Usman’s home does not feel like a celebrity’s home at all. Seeing the conditions that they live in– it’s not what I pictured. Thank god we’re staying at a hotel.”
When Lisa gets back to the states, how will her friends feel about Usman’s living conditions? Will this finally give Lisa the impression that Usman is using her to move to the states and become rich?
