TLC 7 LIttle Johnstons was brought us in 2015 and this Georgia family has won over our hearts. The family has the genetic condition, Achondroplasia Dwarfism. This is one of the largest families with this condition. Amber and Trent Johnston had some complications with pregnancies and decided that in order to expand their family, they would start to adopt. They have a very happy family, but where did all of the children come from? We have the inside scoop on it.
TLC 7 Little Johnstons: Trent and Amber Share with Fans About Adoption
“Adoption is not necessarily for everybody. However, everybody can be a part of adoption-whether it’s making donations to a specific family that’s adopting or a specific organization.” Amber has shared a lot on her YouTube Channel about how adoption worked for them, but it isn’t easy for everyone. When they had some complications with Jonah and Elizabeth‘s births, they decided that adoption would be a much better route for them.
TLC 7 Little Johnstons: Where Are They From?
Trent and Amber wanted more children because they love being parents and raising them. They looked into adoption and then they found Anna, Alex, and Emma. Amber loves all of her children and says that they all have a special place in her heart. Jonah is very athletic and loves sports more than his studies. Elizabeth likes to go out and spend time with her friends, she is a very social butterfly.
The three adopted children all came from different countries. When they went to Russia, that is where they adopted Anna. They traveled to China to adopt Emma, and they were able to hire a service that went to South Korea so that they could adopt Alex. Anna lived in Russia until she was four. She was raised in an orphanage. When they adopted Alex, they said it was a very weird thing. The agency came to drop him off and just gave them his diaper bag, along with the baby, and then left.
When Amber and Trent adopted Emma, she was five years old. She was very scared when they adopted her at first, but they said when she arrived at their home, it was as if it was always supposed to be her home. Amber said, “Our family was created not only by birth, but also adoption, and Trent and I are extremely proud of that.”
