TJ Jackson explained the comments he made regarding his aunt Janet Jackson, seemingly reprimanding her for her ‘overly sexualized’ performances.

All the fuss on social media started when TJ reacted to a video his follower tweeted, which featured Janet performing Would You while displaying an alluring dance. He made it clear that he was not a fan of the ‘sexualized’ performances.

After his comments, some people were in support of it, while others argued that the performances were both entertainment and a form of creativity showcased on the stage. And now TJ wanted to clear up any misconceptions that may have emerged.

In his comments, he said: “This all started with my belief that we should do a better job protecting our girls and I don’t think many of our music videos today (that are aimed at our kids) empower our girls in the right way.”

TJ recently spoke out shortly after Tom Brady received criticism for suggesting that Janet Jackson’s accidental exposure during the Super Bowl was beneficial for the NFL. Brady recollected the notorious 2004 Super Bowl half-time show, during which Timberlake pulled off a sector of Jackson’s top, revealing her nipple.

Following the incident, Timberlake’s career success went up, while Jackson’s career faced a huge blow. And yet, Brady did not see it as a bad thing. In his comments at the time, he remarked: “I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL because everyone got to talk about it.

“It was just more publicity and more publicity for halftime shows. Is any publicity bad publicity? That’s what they say, so who knows?” The response on social media was very clear. While a certain subset of people agreed with what TJ had to say, some felt that he should have had this discussion behind closed doors.

One person wrote: “TJ is entitled to his opinion, however that should have been a private conversation with his aunt and not a public disdain against her.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
