For those who follow TikTok celebrity, Gabriel Salazar, the news is pretty bleak. The 19 year old has died. On Sunday night at 1:25 AM, he was involved in a police chase in San Antonio, Texas. Salazar was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro.
The Sheriff’s Office heard a call from the police department in Crystal City and there was a traffic stop with his Camaro. Instead of stopping, it appears that Salazar decided to run from the police instead of comply with what they were asking him to do.

The deputies at the Sheriff’s Department tried to chase him down and even tried to deploy a tire deflection device. That was unsuccessful and Salazar continued to run from the sheriff and police. The Sheriff’s Department shared some of the details on social media and that is when locals began to get nervous about who was driving.
TikTok: TikTok Celebrity Dies in Car Crash
Salazar was driving on Highway 83 in San Antonio and he eventually drove off the road. He tried to over-correct his driving and that is when he drove into a ditch. He ended up hitting a few trees, the car rolled and then caught on fire. There were four total passengers in the car, including Salazar and they were all pronounced dead at the scene.
The passengers that were riding with Salazar were identified as 41-year-old Jose Luis Jimenez-Mora, 23-year-old Jose Molina-Lara, and 36-year-old Sergio Espinoza-Flores.
Salazar became popular on TikTok and his handle on there is Gabenotbabe. He had over a million followers on the app and posted lip-syncing videos and skits on his account. His fans loved his sense of humor and they were really shaken by his death.
His fans were sad to see this news and continue to look at his Instagram. His last post on there was on Saturday. The photos that he posted were of him driving his car. He posted while he was sitting behind the wheel of the car and standing beside his car. His car was something that he really loved and it seems a bit ironic that it is what killed him.
His loved ones have made a GoFundMe page to help raise money for his funeral expenses.
They added, “We don’t want to get into the details of the crash because it’s so hard for us to even talk about the pain. Gabriel loved his family and was always horsing around with his sister and little brother. He was always there with a big hug and smile, and his family will never forget those warm moments. He was so funny with a quiet sense of humor and sarcasm. I cannot believe that I am sitting her writing this.”
