The Sway LA House may have finally ticked off the mayor of LA to the point of being physically shut down. TikTok influencer Bryce Hall turned 21 and while normally we would all be saying live it up Bryce its your birthday, this is in the middle of a pandemic and he decides to throw a huge party in the middle of it with hundreds of people who were packed into the house like sardines and not wearing masks.
The mayor of LA has had enough of these reports of parties coming in because there has been a lot of them. At a press conference he was saying that these parties are often held at large, often vacant, homes, that have basically become nightclubs in the hills and the thing is he’s not really lying there.

If you look at any if these gatherings they would not be out of place among your average nightclub. He’s tired of these kids not practicing social distancing and putting everyone at risk so he has decreed that anyone who has these large gatherings could risk having their water and power shut off.
Harsh, yes, but right now LA’s cases of the virus keep rising. They have not reached a plateau. These kids may not have any pre-existing conditions and even if they do get it, it may not significantly impact them.
However, they fail to realize that they are not the only ones who live on this planet and that by not practicing social distancing they could possibly infect essential workers that absolutely cannot stay home. Those essential workers are not millionaires and can’t afford to hole up in some million dollar mansion in the hills and safely quarantine and their bottom line or ability to take care of their families not be impacted.
But, oh don’t tell Bryce Hall that because he was turning 21 and could now legally get drunk. Honestly, what was the big deal about turning 21 to this guy? Yes he can legally drink but he could have lived it up with just the people that he lived with and not put half of LA’s Generation Z at risk of dying.
If we know the members of the sway house its not like they’re exactly strangers to alcohol, we know they’re not strangers to other illicit substances and that can be proven by the fact that a few of them got arrested for possession in Texas a few months ago before quarantine hit. Usually, substances are substances and go hand in hand.
For technologically saavy people these kids sure are uncreative. They could get really creative and stream their parties on twitch for all to see if they really wanted to make money in the time of this pandemic.
That would be the socially conscious thing to do but these kids really don’t think past the end of their own nose and only want to party for the sake of partying, screw anyone else who may have a pre-existing condition or may not have a job where they can socially distance its all about living it up for one’s 21st birthday party!
So, my question to Bryce is, what’s the clout gonna look oike when you don’t have water and power in order to make content for your audience? Upload speeds can suck even on the best 5G networks and and I hear the ladies arent into guys who don’t look like they’ve showered in 4-5 days. What will the deal be then, dude?
