On Monday, 27th February 2023, three individuals who worked on the set of the movie “Rust” initiated legal action against Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers, as indicated by documents acquired by TMZ.

Three people – Ross Addiego, Doran Curtin and Reese Price – who were inside the church set at Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico, are suing. They are alleging that they have become distressed and have developed post-traumatic stress disorder following the deadly shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Addiego, Curtin, and Price state that they were nearby Baldwin, 64, when the gun discharged and experienced “blast injuries” because of the loud noise of the shot. The complaint accuses Baldwin of not being careful during weapons training and not making sure that the gun was not filled with an active bullet.

Prosecutors are accusing Baldwin of involuntary manslaughter due to their belief that he fired the gun in the direction of Hutchins. He denied having discharged the prop gun. However, going ahead, Baldwin is not allowed to consume alcohol, keep a firearm, or communicate with possible observers apart from discussing the resumption of shooting “Rust.”

As a result, the social media response was mixed. A certain subset of people were of the view that Alec should be held liable for this since it would hold him accountable and make him more wary over his conduct moving forward. Meanwhile, others accused the claimants of trying to exploit money on the back end of the tragic incident that had caused so much anguish.

One person wrote: “Three POS that are taking advantage of a tragic situation. How was it even his fault? He thought the gun was checked and blanks were inside. Pure BS,” while another person stated: “It is just a big, vulgar money grab at this point. Hanging on to a dead woman to see what they can get out of it.”
