Many eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the Duke of Cambridge has never worn his wedding ring in public, prompting many to wonder how Kate Middleton might feel about it. Here’s what you need to know.
Even though Kate wears her ring, William has never worn his in public. The Duke and Duchess tied the knot in a lavish royal ceremony back in 2011.

“It was something the couple discussed but William isn’t one for jewelry,” the Palace said in a statement following William and Kate’s wedding. “He doesn’t even wear a signet ring — and decided he didn’t want to.”
Another source added, “He’s not one for jewelry. He’s never worn any. He decided he didn’t want to wear one now. It’s all down to personal preference.”
And while Prince William doesn’t like wearing his wedding ring, his father Prince Charles, does. The Prince of Wales wears a gold wedding ring under a signet ring on his left hand pinky. It was given to him by his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles.
With that said, a lot of royal critics can’t help but wonder if how the Duchess of Cambridge feels about her husband’s decision not to wear his wedding ring in public. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a long history of ups and downs, including their very public break up from 2007.
That’s why many insiders say that the least William can do is wear his wedding ring on a necklace while he’s in public. If that weren’t enough, Kate has reportedly always been jealous of her husband’s past girlfriends and female friends.
