‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) has undergone quite the career transformation, and it’s safe to say that this shift hasn’t exactly endeared him to the audience. There was a time when Nate was a compassionate doctor and one of the town’s kindest individuals.
However, that version of Nate seems like a distant memory now that he’s embraced the persona of a smug business aspirant. The trouble began at Chancellor-Winters, where Nate committed a betrayal by scheming behind Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton-Winters’ (Bryton James) backs.
While Nate eventually came clean before his scheming went too far, the fact remains that he plotted against his own family during the IPO turmoil.
Nate then went on to assume a role at Newman Media and eventually secured the position of COO at Newman Enterprises. Despite his transformation into an arrogant and unlikable character in many respects, Nate has consistently been handed opportunities and received accolades in his new roles.
Even the legendary Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) places a high value on Nate’s insights and has entrusted him with the task of overseeing Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Should Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) Go Back To Medicine? Business Too Much For Ex-Doctor?
While it’s understandable that Victor Newman might be testing Adam, it can be frustrating for Y&R viewers to witness Adam in the role of an assistant when he possesses far more business experience than Nate. Nevertheless, Nate appears to relish his newfound power and status.
At some point, Nate might experience a genuine downfall and recognize that embarking on such a self-centered path was a mistake. His hunger for power might lead to a revelation, prompting him to return to his work at the hospital.
If Nate acknowledges his errors and endeavors to reclaim the decency he once embodied, could this have any impact on his relationship with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), or is that ship destined to remain in the past?
In any case, witnessing Nate’s transformation back into a genuinely good person would likely be a welcome change for viewers.
