Adam and Sally have had a tumultuous history. They were a couple, but then they broke up. After the break, Adam regretted his actions, but Sally was already involved with his brother, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Sally found out she was pregnant, and she didn’t know if it was Adam’s child or Nick’s. The DNA test indicated that it was Adam’s daughter. This situation put Sally back into Adam’s life. They planned to coparent together, but Sally said that it would not change their relationship at all.
They ended up losing the baby and Sally was very angry at Adam for a while. He asked the doctors to prioritize saving Sally’s life since the baby was too small to make it.
Adam has been working on himself and has been trying to turn over a new leaf. He’s trying to let go of his selfish vindictive tendencies. Sally is struggling because she still has some deep feelings for Adam, even though Nick is a part of her life now.

When Nick was out of town, Sally and Adam had dinner together. They share some champagne too to celebrate their achievements. When Adam walks Sally to her door at the Athletic Club, he kisses her. She struggles because she realizes she is still attracted to Adam and enjoyed the kiss.
She admits to Nick that she kissed Adam, and he can sense that her feelings are conflicted. He breaks things off with her because he needs her complete devotion and commitment. She isn’t fully committed to him.
Upon some reflection, Sally realizes she still has some feelings for Adam that she does not want to have. He is in love with her too and is surprised to hear her admission. Nick is avoiding her calls and is furious with his brother.
