‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is trying to live a better life. But the comfort of old patterns is beginning to repeat.
She believes Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) has remnant feelings for her. But the audience knows he is pursuing reconciliation with Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell).
Rather than be grateful and content with the job Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) gave her, Phyllis is interested in Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) offer. But as Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) suggested, flying too close to the soapy sun is not intelligent.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Tucker McCall Is Bad News
Phyllis told Tucker that she did not want to be connected to him. Weeks ago, he forced her to hack into Jabot’s accounts in an attempt to set up Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Tucker’s latest offer includes a salary so obscene that he had to write it down. St. John’s character presented it unspoken to Phyllis and said more money would be available later.
There is no long-term gain for Phyllis in helping Tucker. He wants to permanently take Jabot from the Abbott family, which would alienate her from Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). However, that makes one wonder if she still cares about her former husband’s opinion or life.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Jack Abbott Turned To Diane Jenkins Abbott
There is a way to justify disregarding Abbott’s legacy and future. Phyllis knows that Jack turned away from her and toward Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters).
The last name addition Diane sports happened because Jack did a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turn. He dropped his scorn for Walters’ character after she persuaded him that faking her death was connected to intense stress.
During the above period in the plot, Jack also decided Phyllis was untrustworthy. He re-positioned Red with Diane in his heart and has not looked back.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Summer Newman Abbott Tries To Help
Being Phyllis’ only daughter puts Summer in a unique position. But Lanier’s character knows that status does not translate into her mother taking needed advice.
As Summer warned, allowing Tucker to reel her into a shady job has no upside. But Phyllis is focusing on the money and might convince herself that she can manage whatever she is tasked to do.
Pursuing Danny is about the heart. But taking money from Tucker would mean knowingly wronging people who are respected on Y&R.
