There’s some good tension coming out way as Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd)’s news is going to rub Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) the wrong way, but is that really a surprise?

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For October 5: Chasing shadows
We have every expectation that Mamie will do everything in her power to antagonize Jill into wanting to bean her with something heavy. These two bring back so many memories, and we could be heading for a fun feud.
Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t be getting that in this episode as Jill will be talked down by Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Devon Winters (Bryton James) won’t know what to think of Mamie’s gesture aside from he and Lily not wanting Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to be part of it.
This will give Jill an opportunity to warn Devon about Mamie and how she’s probably up to something since Lily will want to give her a chance.
There could be something to this as Mamie will receive a phone call when she’s alone and tell them no one suspects anything.
It hints at a secret co-conspirator, and ‘Young and the Restless’ are wondering who that could be.
There are a few possibilities, and we’re leaning toward Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) since he kept it secret and is a huge believer in family, but that could be too obvious and wouldn’t be a good mystery.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For October 5: A special celebration
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is going to go all out by renting Society for a dinner with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and it’ll be a fun and special moment for them.
While there’s bound to be some shop talk as she’ll want Kyle Abbott (Micheal Mealor) back at Jabot and Jack will refuse to fire Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), they’ll get around to celebrating and Jack will have a fun idea.
He’ll propose that they renew their vows and though it won’t do anything to deter the naysayers, it’ll be nice to have the ceremony in front of their friends and family.
Of course, there’s every possibility something will go sideways, especially with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) roaming around. We don’t think she’ll do anything bad, but her attempts to do good often go sideways in a hurry.
Then there’s Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and we doubt he’ll miss a chance to get even on some level even if it’s not his current game plan.
