Picking up the gun Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) dropped, put Claire in charge. Nikki based Jordan over the head with an empty vodka bottle in what proved to be a critical mistake.
The animus Jordan held for the Newman family, particularly Nikki, caused her to lose focus. She attempted to strangle Thomas Scott’s character before Claire told Jordan to let her grandmother alone.

Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) offered a somewhat surprising conjecture. He questioned whether the years of brainwashing Claire endured might have allowed her to remain loyal to Jordan.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) dismissed Cole’s speculation. She met with their daughter, and their conversation changed her mind.
As noted earlier, Nikki experienced a revelation as well. Her time with Claire at the cabin, where Eve Howard (Margaret Mason) took Cole as a child, dramatically altered Nikki’s outlook.

It was awkward when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrived at the cabin. That was the first time since the lake house that either man came face to face with their newfound family member.
Claire was part of a plot that saw Nikki kidnapped, drugged, and involuntarily forced to absorb alcohol into her system. Victor, Nick, Victoria, and Cole were given poison.
But Claire did provide the antidote. That act happened in the moments after Claire learned Jordan stole her at birth. Aiming a pistol at her aunt to earn Nikki’s release from a stranglehold reinforced her loyalty to her realized family.

Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) found Claire’s comments compelling and agreed to take her case. Claire greatly influenced Victoria after interacting with her as well.
However, the resolution to Nikki’s drama opens the next chapter in this storyline. Jordan is in custody, and as long as she remains so, justice will be served. So, the pressure is off.
Healing will take time, as Nikki said, but Newman blood proved more decisive than Jordan’s intimidation tactics. Claire is about to experience a post-Christmas bond with her parents and extended family on The Young and the Restless.
