‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveals that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) may think that he can get anyone to do whatever he wants, but he was just shown that is not the case. While he thinks he can charm the socks off everyone, some people do see him and his agenda quite clearly.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Burning His Bridges
Y&R’s Nate Hastings burned his bridges to some extent with his cousins, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). When he was working with them at Chancellor-Winters, he betrayed them by getting inside information to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about their upcoming IPO.
This hurt both Devon and Lily so much because Nate is family. They really haven’t had anything to do with him since he left Chancellor-Winters and started working at Newman Media.
They didn’t have anything to do with him until Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) put together a surprise to dedicate the new jazz lounge at the Athletic Club to Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). Lily told Nate about the event and invited him. Nate attended to honor Neil and Devon and Lily accepted his presence.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Attempt to Connect
Devon and Abby moved into the Chancellor mansion. When they moved out, Lily moved into Devon’s penthouse. This penthouse is right across from Nate’s apartment. Nate comes to welcome Lily, bringing a bottle of wine with him. He believes that since Lily invited him to the dedication, that she must have moved on from being hurt by his betrayal.
He welcomes her with a bravado that indicates that he thinks that all is forgiven. Lily lets him know that this is not the case. She has not forgotten the choices that he made and how he hurt her and Devon.
While they may be living across the hall from one another, that does not mean that all is well between them. She doesn’t think that he has changed and points out that she sees him as he really is.
Nate tries to defend his decision to be with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). He says he feels bad about hurting Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), but he seems to dismiss her as a necessary casualty on his rise to power.
Lily can see through him and knows he has not changed. He seems to be offended by her lack of acceptance of who he is.
What do you think? Will Nate ever be truly contrite? Will he ever be able to rebuild his relationships and trust with his family again?
