The Young and the Restless spoilers Michael Mealor admits that while working on a daytime television show is no walk in the park, he’s definitely faced a lot of challenges before landing his career-changing role as Kyle Abbott on the hit CBS soap. As a matter of fact, the handsome heartthrob admits that he’s had his fair share of ups and downs before making his big break on the show.

Speaking to CBS Soaps in Depth, Michael says that one of his most challenging jobs – believe it or not – was working at a book store during his high school years. When asked about his most challenging job, he told the publication, “I will give you three. My first job was at Barnes and Noble. I had to stand for nine or ten hours a day when I was 15 or 16. Who wants to stand that much when you are that age? And two, I taught Soul Cycle for three years and that was physically demanding and exhausting.”

But the most difficult job of them all? Yep, it’s probably what you guessed: being a soap actor. Michael continued, “The Young and the Restless is by far the hardest job of them all. Not demanding physically, but everything beyond that. It takes every piece of myself. Every other job demanded physicality, this is everything else that I’ve never used before.”
Despite the hardship, it appears as though Michael is doing one heck of a job, and that’s because his fans just can’t get enough of him! But we get what he means by “hard.” After all, he’s got two women that his character is stuck in between – Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). Deciding between the two is most definitely a tough one to make!
