‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is having a harder time getting over himself than he espouses. While it seems that he has his priorities straight now and is saying all the right things, it appears that he is hiding what he really feels.
What impact is that lack of honesty with himself going to have on his life and his relationships?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Entitled Much?
Y&R’s Kyle Abbott was pretty unhappy with his father Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) when his marriage to Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) imploded. Jack decided that Summer should be the sole CEO of Marchetti. He wanted Kyle should step down from his CEO partnership with her.
Jack wanted to give Kyle a lesser job at Jabot. He wanted him to stay with the family company, but his brother, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was in the co-CEO role. There wasn’t another position open for Kyle to fill.
Jack felt like letting Summer stay at Marchetti was important because it was her job first and she had lost so much because of the antics of her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Kyle was frustrated though. He didn’t want to start in a lower position and have to work his way up. He felt that was beneath him. Because he felt this way, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) was able to coerce him into joining forces with her and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) to try to take over Jabot.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Double Cross
With the help of his mother, Y&R’s Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters), Kyle decides that he will double cross Tucker and then prove to his father that he is worthy of the top position at Jabot. He isn’t able to pull it off though, because Tucker finds out from Audra that Kyle isn’t truly on his side.
Jack isn’t upset by that but is actually proud of his son for sticking by the family. Billy has moved on to Chancellor-Winters and his position is open. Kyle tells Diane that he thinks that she should be the one to get the job as co-CEO. He says he doesn’t really want it. It should go to her and he is happy where he is.
But, when Jack comes to Society and tells Kyle how amazing he has been and how glad he is to work with him, Kyle stops him. He doesn’t let Jack say anything about who the job is going to, as it appears he is going to suggest promoting Kyle.
When Kyle puts Diane’s name forward, Jack says that was just what he was thinking. That was his idea too.
While Kyle did put this forward, when Jack says that was his idea, Kyle seriously deflates. He clearly isn’t happy about this deep inside. He’s not being sincere about not wanting the top spot.
He most definitely does. Is he going to be able to keep working with the family with his parents at the top? Or is he going to be too depressed about his future with Jabot? What do you think could be the impact of this?
