‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that viewers would likely want to feel warm and fuzzy heading into Christmas. Instead, part of the show focuses on a horror-themed storyline that has the Newman family tortured.
After escaping Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) intent to kill them, the Newman family and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) are bracing for what comes next. Viewers know that Jordan is on the loose in Genoa City, Wisconsin. She followed her targets from Redmond, Oregon, after Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) helped her hoped-for family.
Another downer involves Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) having her sobriety forcibly broken by Jordan and Claire. Now, Jordan has been sending text messages that are unnerving Nikki.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Why Isn’t Victoria Newman On It
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is perfectly capable of multitasking. She is handling her and Cole’s attempt to determine if Claire is their assumed dead daughter, Eve.
So, why didn’t Victoria make her mother report Jordan’s bizarre text messages to the authorities? At the very least, Heinle’s character should have told her father about it. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) would have put his private security staff on it.
Suspending disbelief in daytime requires fans to accept the illogical to push the plot. Portions of this storyline need to be swallowed whole.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Claire Grace Deserves Compassion
As Victoria and Cole see it, Claire had no chance growing up. They want her to be Eve but need DNA confirmation. So, they are cautiously optimistic.
This one-time married couple decided that Claire needed a good lawyer in the meantime. Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) accompanied Cole to Oregon and met with Erin’s character in jail.
Kudos to TPTB for casting Erin, who originally played a younger version of Abby Newman Abbott (Melissa Ordway). She has hit the mark hard and will hopefully remain with the cast indefinitely. The 2019 Daytime Emmy Award winner in the Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series category (General Hospital, Kiki Jerome) embodies a contextualized character that is highly compelling.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Jordan Howard Needs To Be Dealt With
Devoted fans of this genre see the difference between Erin and Zenk’s characters. Jordan has nowhere to go and must either be captured and jailed, perish in a dramatic fashion, or escape to be seen again.
Claire’s road ahead opened when Jordan revealed that she stole her at birth. That transformed Erin’s character into a poor soul who can redeem herself on Y&R.
