‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that love is subjective. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) believes she is rediscovering her first true love. Meanwhile, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) intends to reignite a recent flame.
Having two extraordinary ladies who care about him is something Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is handling. But having Lily and Heather in Genoa City, Wisconsin, is becoming harder to negotiate.
It was relatively easy for Daniel to continue his revival relationship with Lily while Heather was living in Portugal with his daughter, Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant). But Daniel’s future is still being determined now that Bloom’s character has decided to return to her hometown.
Social media allows fans to connect more closely to the daytime actors they enjoy watching on the soaps. Khalil posted a recent photo on her Instagram account, which showed how far along she is in her pregnancy. Her second son is expected soon.
Soap operas record scenes in advance. Those scenes are turned into episodes approximately one month after they are shot.
So, Khalil’s upcoming maternity leave will mean her character will be seen less frequently. Actors who take leave can record extra scenes before their planned leaves. Doing so can allow their characters to appear from other locations. Video chat sequences can also be shot when an actor can work but is not ready to return to the set.

Making a pointed comment is intentional. Much of what Heather has been doing and saying is purposeful since she landed in GC.
She wants Daniel back but knows that Lily holds his interest. So, time and opportunity are essential. Being Lucy’s mother figure is a vital link as well.
Viewers know that Daniel did not leave Heather. She and Lucy felt alienated because he was experiencing emotional problems. That means their love story did not end but is unfinished.

Whether Daniel’s history with Heather proves too much is yet to be seen. But the hug they shared when Lily unexpectedly entered his new condominium was telling.
Lily senses that Heather wants more than she has admitted. While Daniel benefits by having Lucy back in his life, Heather wants to be part of that remade family picture.
Based on Heather, it is reasonable to anticipate a falling out between Lily and Daniel. If that happens, Khalil’s character might need a break from their relationship and could take a trip out of town on Y&R.
