Just last month, the daytime television world was left shocked after finding out that Gina was let go from The Young and the Restless by its producers. It was later reported that she would be replaced by Michelle Stafford, who previously played Phyllis before she made the switch to General Hospital in 2013.

Gina has made it no secret that she was left pretty saddened over the decision. After all, she considers her The Young and the Restless co-stars as family and the set of the show as her second home. The stunning beauty recently shared a photo of her and Eileen enjoying a little quality time backstage and captioned it with, “When I think of REAL … it’s @eileendavidsonofficial working beside you has been Absolutely inspiring! Keep slaying #warrior #YR @cbsdaytime@youngandrestlesscbs.”
It didn’t take Eileen very long to respond to Gina’s post with, “I love you, you warrior! Excited for all the adventures that lie ahead of you!”
Gina’s social media followers seem to appreciate the love, support and friendship between Gina and Eileen as they also commented on the photo with, “Two of my favorites,” and “We are going to miss you Gina!”
Another fan wrote, “I did NOT want a new Phyllis. But your amazing talent absorbed and immersed yourself into a different dimension of this character that was absolutely superb. I miss you already, but cannot wait for what you will do next!!!”
