‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that Devon Hamilton Winters’ (Bryton James) sudden shift stuck out. Why would he come around to allowing his cousin to return to Chancellor-Winters?
Most importantly, Devon has not forgotten that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) disrespected his relationship with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). That led to Devon physically attacking Nate, who fell, shattered his hand, and needed surgery.
Dominic’s character also lost the ability to continue his career as a surgeon and joined the business world. It took Devon a while to initially approve of Nate being at CW. The quicker acceptance this time is directly connected to Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) need to leave town temporarily.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Mattie Ashby Is Missed
Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and her twin brother, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry), have been absent since 2019. That is a shame because both young actors were solid performers and added a generational texture to this soap that is still missing.
The children of Lily and her ex-husband, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard), left town during the same period that their father did. It was also unfortunate that Goddard’s character, who debuted in 2007, was also written out. But TPTB pushed Lily in a new plot direction.
Khalil’s character needed to leave Genoa City, Wisconsin, in a rush because of wildfires surrounding the college Mattie was attending. The character Stevenson played is okay, but one of her professors, who was also Lexie’s mentor, died.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Lily Winters Can’t Be At Chancellor-Winters
Lily will remain with her daughter for an extended period. Fans know that Khalil is having her second child and is on maternity leave, with the wildfire explanation being used as a plot device for Khalil’s planned exit.
Khalil should return in the new year. Based on the advanced recording time frames Y&R follows, Lily projects to return to GC before the spring.
In the meantime, her spot at CW needs to be filled. Mamie Johnson’s (Veronica Redd) push for family healing helped Lily and Devon forgive Nate. He will help fill the gap Lily leaves.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Nate Hastings Has To Play Fair
Saying one wants to be better can convince others to offer conditioned forgiveness. That is where Nate finds himself just before the end of this calendar year.
He must keep his drive to prove himself in check this second time around. Lily was more inclined to believe Nate’s claim of having learned a lesson. Devon is understandably skeptical but willing to see if Nate’s actions prove his plea for redemption is real on Y&R.
