‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) may be making matters worse for Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Is A Fierce Mom
On the October 28th episode, Phyllis told Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) that since Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) doesn’t see that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is guilty, she’ll just have to open his eyes.
We know what that means. Phyllis is about to make a foolish decision. She had already made one hell of a scene at GCAC when she freaked out because Daniel had been arrested, screaming at Chance that he was making a mistake.
Phyllis yelled at Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) and said she was trying to ruin her son’s life by representing him. She informed “the bug” that she knew she was only trying to get brownie points with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).
Phyllis often goes to extremes and does whatever it takes to clear her son. Inevitably, that means that trouble is right around the corner for both Daniel and Phyllis.
To her credit, Phyllis is a fierce mom, without question. She’s standing by her son and won’t back down because she knows Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) was the love of Daniel’s life. She feels the pain he’s going through.
Not only was Heather killed, but now Daniel is arrested for her murder. Daniel wants the culprit to be found out as well, and he suspects what Phyllis does, that something doesn’t add up with Sharon’s story about what happened the night Heather died, and she could be the killer.
Well, actually, Phyllis knows Sharon murdered Heather and framed Daniel for the crime. But we all know that when Phyllis isn’t in control, she gets crazy.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Daniel Has An Alibi For The Night Heather Died
Phyllis has been trying to get Chance to discuss the case with her, but she knows he can’t do that. She may start snooping around in an effort to bring the truth to light.
Chance is also dating Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), which makes the situation that much more complicated. Phyllis could even tamper with evidence, which would compromise the investigation.
Phyllis may also try to coerce Sharon into spilling her guts about what really happened, but it could backfire if she attempted to do this the wrong way. She could even make Daniel look even more guilty.
Of course, there are a couple of significant holes in the story. Despite all the evidence pointing in Daniel’s direction, it’s incredibly obvious he’s being set up. Daniel has a rock-solid alibi for the night in question.
He was at the movies with Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant). Meanwhile, Sharon has no alibi for her whereabouts the night Heather died. And wouldn’t Sharon’s DNA be all over the crime scene?
Sharon, who’s been unstable and off her bipolar medicine for months, really should be a suspect since she was running around town openly threatening Daniel, Heather, and Lucy.
That being said, Phyllis is determined to prove Daniel’s innocence. She’ll either be the one to give the GCPD a big fat “I told you so,” or she’ll seriously mess up and incriminate Daniel and herself.
