‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) it seems like storm clouds are gathering and threatening to ruin their once perfect romance. Billy clearly has a great deal of passion for Chelsea, who finds comfort in his constant support whenever she needs it.
Billy also thinks highly of Chelsea and confides in her when he is having difficulties. As an experienced and steady pair, they’ve survived many storms together on the program, but what unanticipated circumstance would shake the foundations of their union? Queue Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) whose recent troubles at school portend trouble ahead.
After Connor was excelling in his new surroundings, his abrupt collapse is concerning because it is reflected in his falling grades and apparent inability to focus in class.
Understandably disturbed by Connor’s behavior, Chelsea and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) have even discussed the potential of an OCD diagnosis. Chelsea decides to visit Connor’s school in the most recent episode of “The Young and the Restless,” and Billy offers to go with her for the weekend.

There are signs in the background that Chelsea and Adam will be the ones to see Connor in the end as worried parents, which could make Billy feel like an outsider in their family’s dynamic.
When Connor’s problems worsen, moving him back to Genoa City looks like a realistic option, where Chelsea and Adam can offer more emotional support and strict monitoring. In the event that this happens, Chelsea might reconsider her relationship with Billy and decide that her son’s welfare comes first.
Deeply in love, Billy might have been thinking about settling down with Chelsea more permanently, maybe even pondering a marriage proposal soon.
But when Connor becomes more reluctant to be around Billy, maybe stoking his desire for his parents to get back together, such plans may be shelved. In order to protect her son’s emotional health, Chelsea might feel pressured to set aside her relationship with Billy when she realizes how much Connor requires. She might even suggest a brief split.
