‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that star Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter) is opening up about a subject matter that you won’t hear a lot of celebrities talk about. The actress recently spoke out about her eating disorder on social media with the hopes that she might be able to reach out and help a fan in need. Here’s what she has to say.
According to CBS Soaps in Depth, the beautiful brunette says that she often struggled with her appearance. Being in the spotlight and of course in front of the cameras also let to unhealthy behavior and eating habits. Cait posted a photo on her Instagram account with a very poignant message for her followers.

“Yes, this is just another mirror selfie,” she started, “but, I’ll be real for a second. We all have things we don’t like about ourselves. I’m pretty open about anxiety and depression, not for attention, but to try and reach out to those who may feel the same. Growing up auditioning, I always felt I had to fit into a category and never quite fit in. Age, weight, height, etc. I took my pain and anger out on my body. I’d starve myself (a few hundred calories a day) then binge, then make myself vomit. Rinse, repeat, you get it.”

Cait further explained that she’s managed to change things around and these days she looks at herself in the mirror and likes what she sees. The actress said, “I’ve been working out every day, but listening to my body. I’ve been eating well and drinking water, cut drinking [alcohol], staying in when I need, forgiving myself. I’m not sure who needs to hear this, maybe no one, but I hope that you can be patient and kind to me. Thank you. I’m sorry if I’m not enough of the friend you need, but I’m trying and I’ll always keep trying.”
