‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) is going on the offensive. Her job at Newman Media has been kind of tenuous since Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas) got the role of CEO, demoting Audra.
She has had to be more cautious to keep her job. As if it wasn’t enough to keep Nikki happy, Audra also has to pay attention to Nikki’s new assistant, Claire Grace (Hayley Erin).
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Impressing Nikki Newman
Claire Grace was interviewed by both Audra and Nikki at Society. Nikki was looking for an assistant and Claire seemed to have the right qualifications. Even though she isn’t very experienced in business as Audra is, she seems very forthright and sincere.
After dealing with Audra and her ability to schmooze up to the boss, Nikki must really appreciate the sincerity that she reads in Claire. While Claire is mysterious and unknown, her background stories don’t seem to be dripping with fake praise.
To Nikki, Audra has always seemed to be somewhat egotistical. She also strikes Nikki as fake and pretends. While Nikki may value her business savvy, she also realizes Audra is a person she’ll always have to keep an eye on.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: One Up
When Audra came to talk to Nikki about a deal and how they should handle a seller asking too much, Nikki decided to ask Claire what she would do. Claire spoke up and gave her opinion. Nikki praised her saying it was a good idea and sent Audra off to implement it.
Claire’s suggestions worked and Nikki was pleased. After Nikki left, Claire apologized to Audra, concerned that she had one-upped her in front of the boss. Audra said that was ridiculous. They are all part of a team and all need to give ideas.
However, it’s pretty evident that Audra isn’t happy. She’s on such thin ice that a new girl like this could be her stiff competition. She must keep up her “A game.”
When Claire left the room, Audra opened her tablet to start digging. She wants to know who Claire is and what kind of past she has. Audra doesn’t want her own aspirations not to be realized because of the new girl.
