‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that alum Max Ehrich seems to be more desperate for attention these days than he is thirsty, if that even makes sense. After chart topper Demi Lovato pulled the plug on their short-lived engagement earlier this month, Max was seen stepping out with a new woman: American Idol alum Sonika Vaid.
And while it might have looked like the two are now dating, sources say that’s not the case at all. That’s because Sonika is in a committed relationship with her live-in boyfriend. Here’s what you need to know.

Just last week Max posted a few photos of what appeared to be him moving on from Demi with a new woman in his life, Sonika. But now sources say that Mac’s pupated love interest is actually a taken woman. Apparently, Sonika’s boyfriend is a real estate agent who works for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Mauricio Umansky’s film.
“He wants to make it look like he’s moving on with another woman, but they’re not dating. She’s in a full relationship and lives with her boyfriend,” a source said.
Sonika, meanwhile, says that the night she was photographed with Max was taken during a group dinner with a few friends. I met Max recently at dinner with mutual friends. It was a fun night and we all got to hang out.”
Prior to his date night, Max was spotted shedding a few years while by himself at a beach in Malibu. So far the actor has not made any comments about why he decided to post his photos of him and Sonika, despite the fact that they are not romantically involved.
