‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that star Reylyn Caster, who plays the new Faith Newman on the hit CBS soap, says that she always knew she wanted to be an actress. In fact, the young teen started off doing local plays in her native Kansas before setting her sights for Hollywood at the young age of 10. Here’s what you need to know about her.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Reylyn says that when she was just 10, she signed on with a Los Angeles-based talent representation in the hopes that she could get her foot in the door with some television and film work. At the time, she was still living in Kansas and sending in her audition tapes from home. After three years of rejections, Reylyn’s parents decided on a move to California. That’s when she landed a role on the show, Me Myself and I.

She said, “They decided to make the move to California so I could jump right into show business instead of just putting in a toe. I was 13, and at that age, you’re kind of figuring out who you are; that was a huge step for me to take, but it went really well and I made friends quickly.”
Reylyn was also on Netflix’s The Big Show Show, but the series was canceled when the pandemic hit, which led her to where she is today on The Young and the Restless. The 18-year-old actress recalled, “I hadn’t worked in awhile because of the pandemic and I really wanted to get back into doing drama because I’d done comedy for so many years.”
When Reylyn received a call to come audition for The Young and the Restless, she wasted no time in coming in to meet everyone at CBS Studios. She said, “Although soaps were something I’d never done, I always want to try everything that I can. My mom loves soaps and I would sit at home when they came on and watch them with her. She was into YOUNG AND RESTLESS and DAYS OF OUR LIVES, and she got really excited when I was auditioning for Y&R, but we didn’t have a clue for which character.”
