The Young and the Restless star Camryn Grimes admits that she isn’t looking for an Emmy this year. The reason behind it is simple. Even though soaps are usually packed with lots of drama, twists and turns, Camryn feels as though she has strengths in other areas. Here’s what she has to say.

The Young And the Restless News: Camryn Grimes Doesn’t Want An Emmy

The actress, who is best known for her role as Mariah Copeland, revealed that she won’t be submitting a reel of her best work for next year’s Emmys. It’s because she’s more interested in showing off her funny side. Camryn thinks that the soap world should give comedy a try, which in her opinion is much more harder than acting in dramatic scenes.

“I think people are so used to giving awards to scenes that are high in drama that they don’t see the wealth and difficulty in doing comedy,” the red-headed beauty Soaps In Depth in a new interview. “Comedy is sometimes harder than doing the drama! But most people submit a drama reel where everyone is crying!”

We can’t help but agree. And while the cast of The Young and the Restless do give us some laughs here and there, Camryn thinks more of it is needed. In fact, she thinks that soap stars should deliver more laughs than tears!

Camryn added that her talented co-star Gina Tognoni went against the trend and submitted a comedy reel last year. The actress said, “But it’s not typically what we’ve been doing or taught to submit. I don’t think that’s going to change, but I wish it would, because comedy is just as relevant, just as important, and takes just as much talent as drama!”
