The co-hosts of “The View” are being criticized for not discussing Hugh Grant’s interview with Ashley Graham when he appeared on the show.
The View Slammed For Not Grilling Hugh Grant Over His Controversial Interview-‘Arrogant As I Thought’
Grant received criticism from internet users following his awkward interaction with Ashley Graham during their Oscars red carpet interview.
The model asked him typical questions, and he gave brief responses. At one point, Graham asked Grant about his favorite part of the Oscars, and he replied that he found it fascinating to see a variety of individuals gathered in one location, referring to it as a “vanity fair.”
Graham believed that the reference was made to the Oscars party organized by Vanity Fair. However, some online users were of the opinion that the statement was aimed at describing an extravagant and ostentatious setting or situation, as defined by Merriam-Webster.
When asked if he had any favorites to support at the ceremony, Grant stated that he did not have a specific preference.
The conversation then shifted to fashion, and he was queried about his outfit. In response, he mentioned that he was dressed in a suit and acknowledged his tailor when asked for more details.
But rather than addressing the backlash, the co-hosts of the view chose to do the following. They asked him about the reunion of the actor with his former co-star Andie MacDowell on stage at the Oscars now.
The duo presented the award for Best Production Design. That did not go down very well with the fan base who let everyone know in no uncertain terms that this was a cowardly move.
One person wrote: “How could you not address the Ashley Graham interview with Hugh grant? I’m guessing he said he didn’t want to discuss it which unfortunately makes me feel he’s as arrogant as I thought he might be.”
While another person stated: “So, I guess Hugh Grant went to the #TheView with the agreement not to touch what happened with him and Ashley Graham? Because not a word, let alone a sentence.”
Hugh may have survived the backlash that could have come his way, but the same cannot be said for the co-hosts. And there is no getting away from that no matter how hard you try.
