The Rock has made a pledge to never work with a gun in his upcoming films. Following the Alec Baldwin shooting tragedy, The Rock says that he will never use “real guns” ever again after Alec accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his film “Rust” last week. Speaking on the red carpet for the world premiere of his new Netflix blockbuster Red Notice, the actor said that films or TV shows made by his company Seven Bucks Productions would use rubber guns from now on.

The Rock told reporters: “The guts and the mechanics of movies, there’s a lot of protection. But that said… I can speak on behalf of Seven Bucks Productions – moving forward on any Seven Bucks Production in television or film or otherwise, we will not use real guns ever again.
“We are going to be using rubber guns and we’ll take care of it in post [production] and we won’t worry about the dollars or won’t worry about math or what the cost is.”
As far as Alec Baldwin, The Rock said, “He’s a buddy of mine, and my heart goes out to the families of everybody who was involved.”
A gun that was inadvertently loaded was used by Alec Baldwin as a prop in the film. The weapon was discharged and killed Halyna Hutchins while also wounding the film’s director, Joel Souza. The shocking incident rocked Hollywood and sparked an investigation by the Sheriff’s Department in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The film’s armorer, and even Alec Baldwin himself have faced criticism and speculation regarding their possible roles in the shooting.
