This past weekend, The Real Housewives star Shannon Beador was detained for a DUI and hit-and-run in Newport Beach, California.
Unfortunately, the Newport Beach Police Department won’t share her mugshot because the case is “a work in progress.”
Shannon Beador Was a Drunken Mess
The Real-to-Real star was detained late Saturday night after she drunkenly drove her automobile into a house and then swiftly sped away.
Beador clipped the house, and there is substantial property damage. The Newport Beach police received a 911 call that someone had just plowed into a house.
Beador had turned around on the road and just drove off until she decided to park her car in the middle of the street, get out, and pretend she was taking a leisurely stroll with her dog. However, she wasn’t going to fool the police.
When the police arrived, she was very obviously drunk, and she was taken into police custody. Her car was also seized pending investigation.
Alcohol-related DUIs and hit-and-run property damage are serious offenses. Fortunately for Beador, hit-and-run property damage in California is only a misdemeanor.
Beador was released early Sunday morning, and her lawyer, Michael Fell, said, “I spent quite a bit of time with Shannon yesterday. She is extremely apologetic and remorseful. We will await the official information on this case as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”
Shannon Beader Was Ashamed and Embarrassed
Beador’s friend Jeff Lewis provided an update on his Sirius XM talk radio show. “Unfortunately, Shannon got a DUI on Saturday night. She was also in a car accident, so that she will be recovering.”
He then went on to say how “shocked” he was to find out that Shannon had been drinking and driving because she had never been known to do so.
Shannon is also said to be “ashamed” and “embarrassed.” Shannon is supposedly going to take full responsibility for her actions. Many people think she is an alcoholic, which Lewis vehemently denied on her behalf.
While no one was hurt in the accident, that doesn’t excuse her poor behavior. She should have known better than to take that risk.
Shannon is going to go into counseling because of her emotional issues. She was reportedly shocked and devastated when her boyfriend, John Janssen, broke it off with her after a three-and-a-half-year relationship.
“I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved John. But clearly, he didn’t feel the same way,” Beador exclaimed on her Real Housewives of Orange County show.
It may not be a coincidence that the Real Housewives star was allegedly kicked out of a bar a couple of months later after a heated encounter with Janssen’s daughter.
Beador was reportedly three sheets to the wind when this occurred. She was inebriated as she was screaming at Janssen’s daughter.
A group of people surrounded them, and everyone seemed to want to get involved. Everyone was asked to leave.
In a PR-motivated move, Janssen posted a picture of him and Beador on social media with a caption that read, “Great dinner.”
The whole thing sounds pretty foolish. The next time Ms. Beador decides to get trashed, she should call herself an Uber ride home.
