That’s because cast member Erika Jayne has just announced that she is ending her marriage to her husband, Tom Girardi, after 21 years. Here’s what you need to know.
“After much consideration I have decided to end my marriage to Tom Girardi. This is not a step taken lightly or easily,” she said in a statement to the media on Wednesday. “I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the lives we built together. It is my absolute wish to proceed through this process with respect and with the privacy that both Tom and I deserve. I request that others give us that privacy as well.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for her fans, followers and critics to respond to the news. As many fans know, the age difference – she’s 49 and he’s 81 – has been addressed on the show plenty of times.
Quite a few of them took to their social media accounts to write, “All of Erika’s answers about her marriage to Tom sounded so rehearsed. I think he cut her loose and let her be the one to file to save face. She’s shown her true colors to everyone at this point, wouldn’t be surprised if she winds up alone,” along with, “You want privacy? You mean like the privacy you crucified Denise for wanting on the show?! We want to hear all your dirty laundry. Hopefully the others will come with receipts. Like how you are divorcing Tom now that he’s being sued right and left and can no longer fund your lavish lifestyle.”
Another fan put it this way, “You have to love how Erika wants privacy and respect for her divorce, yet she thought nothing of dragging Denise’s marriage through the dumpster all throughout last season.”
