Bachelor Nation fans were very happy when The Golden Bachelor was announced. Gerry Turner is the senior bachelor looking for a woman to spend his sunset years with. He lost his wife a few years ago and his daughters suggested that he audition for the show.

When Gerry chose to take a one-on-one date with Joan, it seemed that they would be on the right path to love. She got a phone call from her family and Joan mentioned that she had a family emergency and she needed to leave the show.

There has been a lot of speculation about the true reason for leaving the show. A lot of fans are blaming her daughter after they heard an unaired phone call between her and her daughter.
During the phone call, her daughter called her selfish for wanting to be on the show and of course, fans are curious if this was what really made her leave Gerry.

One fan shared on Twitter, “Ew. You could tell Joan’s daughter was really b*****g at her on the phone and that’s why the producers didn’t air her voice. Does her daughter not have a partner? Other family? Seems real selfish and I don’t think Joan wanted to go home.”
Another added, “Sorry, but I can’t believe Joan is leaving. Unless her daughter is in a bad way, she should be fine and needs to let her mom pursue happiness again. I can’t imagine impeding my mom this way.”
A final fan of the show wrote, “Sounds like the daughter has mommy issues. Unless she had a medical emergency but it didn’t sound like it or Joan would’ve said.”
From the looks of it, there are plenty of fans of the show who feel as if Joan made a huge mistake by leaving. Gerry seemed to be getting much closer to her and they had a real connection. However, if she did leave because of her daughter, it will be very upsetting for Gerry.
